LUCKY BRAND MOCASINS

I picked up these moccasins a few weeks ago, but it was really warm in California and didn't get a chance to wear them.  Today and this whole week, it's been cold and damp.  The fall weather has arrived.
These were buy 1 pair of shoes and get 1/2 off the second pair at Off Saks Fifth.  I got a pair for my daughter too.  They are really soft , warm and comfy.
When I was at Rite-Aid last week, I went down their shoe/slipper aisle.  I saw so many cute winter booties, slippers, and shoes.  They had a pair of moccasins in a camel color I liked. I think they were $10-15.  They always have sales, so I'm going back to see what I can find for those cold fall/winter mornings.
Drugstores carry everything now.  What was the most interesting thing you've found or bought at a drugstore?

MY NEW HAIR ROUTINE - drugstore products

I noticed the hair for fall is really messy, beachy waves or curls.  My hair is really course and wavy/curly, but I needed a little help to relax the curls.

SHAMPOO
I have been using the New Dove shampoo and conditioner in intense therapy.  Using these alone and I really don't need any other products.  My hair becomes super soft and manageable.  I also recently tried using Johnson's baby shampoo.  You don't get much of a lather, but it leaves your hair super soft too.  I feel like it's lighter and a more natural product.  I love all of Johnson's & Johnson products.  They have come out with an organic line too.  I figure if it's good for babies delicate skin, it's good for ours.

PRODUCT
The only 2 products I really use after I wash my hair are heat protectant and Biosilk serum.  If I want my waves to be really relaxed I'll use Biosilk.

TOOLS
I either use the conical iron or 1 inch curling iron.  My favorite comb, the teasing comb from Sally's.

What I Do
I wash my hair and put in some Biosilk.  I let it air dry completely.  Then I take either the curling iron or conical and and take small random pieces and curl them.  It's not a perfect or even curl.  Then I take my little comb and tease it, but not just underneath, but on top too.

I am using less heat because I'm not drying or flat ironing my hair.  I just curl a few pieces.  Best of all it's really easy and effortless.  The hair products are inexpensive.  My hair feels better and I am working with my natural texture.

What are you doing differently with your hair? have you found a great drugstore hair product?

NEW PRODUCTS I'M TRYING

I have been reading that using an epilator gives you less hair over time, but is very painful.  I'll have to see how painful.  The epilator could be used anywhere you shave on the body.

I have never used a Remington flat iron, but in the reviews the hair always looks so silky.  I guess that's my goal, soft silky hair with a flat iron.  This flat iron is a straightener and curls with heat up o 430.

I'll be trying them out the next couple weeks and see if they live up to their promises.

Have you tried an epilator?  What new products have you bought lately?

****Contest Closed***GIVEAWAY-HANA PROFESSIONANL FLAT IRON review/ GIVEAWAY!

I was contacted by misikko, a company that specializes in hair straighteners, dryers, and flat irons, to try the Hana Professional Flat Iron.  I was really interested after I visited the misikko site because it had great flat irons and my flat iron was on its way out.  That's perfect timing.

I didn't know how the Hana Flat iron would work because my hair is thick, course, and curly.  The first thing I noticed is how small and light the flat iron is.  The flat irons I've had have always been heavy and bulky, so this was something new for me.  The Hana Flat iron has heat settings to 450 degrees, so for my thick hair,  there was hope of getting it straight.  I've tried so many cheaper ones because you know I love a great deal, but when it comes to flat irons,  you have to put some money into it.

These are the results.  I straightened, flipped, and did some curls here. Before I started, I put some of the Hana Shine Serum in.  I really like how it shines your hair without that greasy weighed down look and smells great. I use the BioSilk serum, but this is a lot thinner and less greasy with the same results.  If your hair is fine to med-thick, you will get the straight hair, but for thicker, course hair, you get the  straight with volume look.  I prefer my hair with volume, so it didn't bother me.  What I really love about this flat iron is the curls it gives you.  Those pretty wispy curls, not the hard defined ones you usually get with other irons. I've been using this to curl my hair now.   Whether you curl or straighten, your hair stays that way.  If your looking for something different than the Hana Flat Iron, go to the misikko site that says Best Flat Irons, you'll find  product raves from beauty experts and customers and more details on their products and the best hair type for the product.  They also carry CHI and Corioliss straighteners.

THE STUPIDEST THING I EVER BOUGHT

Since I cheated on my stylist and started doing my color at home, I thought this brush/color bottle would be easy and less messy.

Well, it was the stupidest thing I bought.

It $4.50 at Sally's, which OK didn't kill me, but it doesn't work.  The bristles on the brush don't separate or even comb the hair.  That pick/separator just broke off and flew across the floor. The bottle is too big too.  I use 2  bottles of color, & it was hard to squeeze the product out.

I put the color in, flipped it over and nothing, a splatter of color blobbed on my head. I put the color back in the original bottle and tossed this right in the trash.

I was hoping for a comb color bottle, like Loreal has.

What do you use to put the color in without a mess?  Are there any other bottles or products that comb in the color?  Tips?

TRESemme-NEW FAVORITE HEAT PROTECTANT

TRESemme Heat Tamer Spray

I have been looking for something for my hair that wasn't oily.  I use the flat iron a lot & my hair is so course, I do need the oil on my ends, but using oil on my ends is making my cheeks breakout right where the shorter pieces of hair hit my face.  I have seen this on so many blogs and so many YT videos, but I never got it.
It's a really great inexpensive hair product, $4-5.  Your hair doesn't feel or look greasy, oily, limp, or even dry.  It smells so good.  I feel like when I use this, my hair stays either flat or curly longer.
I use it when I curl, dry, or flat iron my hair.  Then every couple days I add some oils to the ends too.

Now I am looking for 2 things, a flat iron that doesn't burn your ends & a oil to add to my ends.  Any suggestions?

REVLON CERAMIC STRAIGHTNER/CURLING IRON IN ONE-REVIEW

I was at TJMaxx & came across this curling iron/hair straightener combo for $15, & I thought this would be great for travel. Here is the flat iron part:
This is the flat iron locked & the curling iron part.
I opened it & the first thing I noticed is how cheap it was made & it was all plastic. When I tried the flat iron part it was so loose, my hair didn't touch the iron. I tried to hold it down harder & burned myself.

I put it back & & returned it. I didn't even try the curling iron part. I'm back to my flat iron & curling iron.

Have you seen a product like this or tried one? I would love to try a good one, & get rid of so many tools.

What's your fave hair tool?

MY NEW HAIR COLOR

After getting my hair colored professionally for years, I just did it myself today.
I used this Revlon ColorSilk Hair color. I tried it on my mom, & her hair was so silky, smooth, & soft afterwards. Target has 2/$5. It's a great price for a great color. They have so many colors. Plus it covers grays & has no ammonia. Sounds good & looks great!
I just washed it & air blew it dry to see the color. Looks silky, doesn't it?
The color is darker than on the box, but I love it. The color has red undertones in the light.

I have to admit, I feel like I'm cheating on my stylist though.

What do you think of my new color? What's your fave hair color/brand?

CLIPLESS CURLING IRON HAIR PHOTOS

HELLO EVERYONE & HAPPY WEEKEND TO YOU!

I have had time to spend with my clipless or conical or Enzo Milano dupe curling iron. The curls really do come out beautiful. It's easy & fast. I watched a bunch of YT demo's for different curling ideas. The 2 things you need to do are to use your heat protector glove & use a heat protector for your hair. The iron gets super hot.

I bought it from Amazon. They have different sizes & shapes.

This is my hair from the side. I have long layers in the back. I don't hold my end on the iron because I'm afraid it will give me split ends, & I have enough of those. I don't hold the iron at the root either. i section off my hair & start 1-2 inches from the root.
This is a closer look.
This is what the curl looks like on medium 1 length hair.
The curl lasts a long time. More than 24hrs. for me. I do love it. As of now the other curling irons are put away.

What are your experiences with the curling iron? What is a really good heat protector? I'm not loving the Chi.

BATISTE DRY SHAMPOO-REVIEW

COST:$8 @ Sally's Beauty Supply

This is a dry shampoo that you spray on your roots or through your hair to give a clean look. After you spray it, massage through your hair then brush out.

This smells really good & is easy to use. I think it's the best dry shampoo I've tried so far.

I have dark hair, so I have to use this sparingly or my hair will have a gray/white color. Not good. If you have light brown to blonde hair, this is the best product. My hubby even uses it, & he doesn't use hair products. my daughter uses this all the time. They both need to wash their hair everyday, & this lets them skip a day.
I have repurchased many times already. Just be careful how much you use with dark hair would my only negative.

What's your feeling on dry shampoos?

CLIPLESS CURLING IRON HAUL

COST:$43
SIZE:25-18

I found this on Amazon from Le Angelique. I could not pass it up for the money. A warning though, it came in a box w/no papers. The company offers a phone number to get in touch with them. They shipped it out the next day & I got it within 4 days. They also offer other size barrels & sell flat irons.

You get really pretty loose curls. I've been watching tutorials on YT. Pursebuzz has a good one using the Enzo Milano.

This curling iron gets so hot, use the glove that comes with it. I will put up a pic of my hair when I've had more practice.
Do you have one of these? Any tips?

CONAIR HAIR DIFFUSER

COST:$10-20
STORE: google it because it can be any diffuser, they all work the same. Some you can attach to your dryer.

Hello everyone!  I'm missing you!  I have been soooo busy this week. I have had my hubby's family in town for the last week, my kids are finishing school & going back w/the in-laws, & we are having our house painted.   I'm hoping things will calm down, so I can catch up with everyone.  I wanted to show you what I've been using to do my hair real quick.

Conair hair diffuser. You use it to dry your hair.  I put in mousse when my hair is wet & place my hair on the spokes until it's dry. If your hair is really thin, dry your hair upside down for volume.
This is what I get. Then if you have parts that are unruly, I just curl them.  I finish off w/hair spray. Sorry the color of the pics are off lately.  June gloom in Cali is making hard to get a good pic.
What is your easy go to hair style, product, tool?

BED HEAD - 1 1/2 in. CURLING IRON

I'm in love with Bed Head curling irons.  This is the 1 1/2 in. & it gives the big curls & most important, they last.  It heats up to 425 F.  The clamp holds the hair really good, so you could curl big pieces of hair.  It also leaves the ends smooth, where other curling irons make them look dry. I know they have it at Target, but check TJ Maxx & Marshall's, it's 1/2 the price.  I have the small one too & it works just as good. Plus it's magenta.

I also heard that Mac is having a friends & family sale w /25% off. I've been looking on the site & a lot of things are already sold out. I wonder if they'll get them back in? What's a good thing not to miss out on?

HAULIN MAMA- SEPHORA & SALLY'S

Happy Sunday everyone. Before I show you the haul, I wanted to let you know I posted a Dior Lip Balm review. I had to repost it today(I had problems with posting) so check it out after this post. There were questions on it.

Now the haul!
You know that I'm really critical when it comes to makeup(since it's not cheap), so I have to tell I LOVE the Shady Lady eyeshadows. It was $32 & worth every penny. Go check this out. I'm going to do a whole review on this. I got the Bad Girl lash as a freebie, can't wait to try it!
I also stopped at Sally's for the Batiste dry shampoo & got this pretty lipstick pencil for $1.99. I love bargains. The tropical coconut is a blue lip gloss($1).  My favorite is the mineral powder because its not a loose powder & it gives a beautiful glow w/no glitters.(12.99)

I'm going away at the end of the week, which means planning & packing, ugh! I'm going to try to pack the least amount of makeup as I can(of course I'll have to show you). The best part, we're going to Palm Springs which means a really good CCO stop on the way. YAY!!

Let me know if you want reviews, pics, swatches, of anything! Is the Balm line any good? What's good?

DOVE- CONDITIONER-REVIEW

Ladies & Gents, this is my new found cheap love.
I've been reading good reviews about this & then I saw beautybargainhunter on YT review this.  Before she even reviewed it I was thinking her hair looks so good lately. But what sold me is the"ROUGH" part of the description. Ever since I cut & colored my hair last it feels rough. This is so moisturizing, my hair feels like silk. It smells so good & it's $5 @walmart for 32oz.
It feels soft & my hair doesn't look dry.  I have course, thick hair so I can use it everyday & it won't look greasy.
You should try it for the price.
