SENNA COSMETICS - REVIEW

I was so excited to get some products from the new Senna Cosmetics Fall/Winter collection.  It is called Virtual Vintage and it is really beautiful.  You have to look at the gorgeous photograph of their model and products.

I reviewed their products a couple months ago, and I really love them.  They feel amazing on the skin, face, and lips.  The colors in this collection are perfect for the fall, winter, and holidays.

 Top- Valentina (cream lipstick)
Bottom- Garnet (shear lipstick)

The Valentina is the most perfect red lip.  It is the old Hollywood, Marilyn Monroe red.  Garnet has these specks of gold that give so much dimension to the lip.  They feel so good and hydrating on.

Lush Lip Lacquer
Dusty Rose  Lip Liner

The Senna Lip Lacquers are so rich and pigmented.  The staying power is amazing.  It just stays on the lip.  The gold flecks just brighten the lip without it looking or feeling glittery.  Its got jojoba and Vitamin E that leaves your lips so soft.

The lip liner glides on without feathering and I really like this color.  It is a good neutral shade that goes with so many lipsticks.

Swatches L- R
Garnet - Valentina - Lush -Dusty Rose

This is one of my favorites.  It is the mineral mix Buff and Brighten.  It leaves your skin looking dewy and silky.  It is not glittery, but it gives a sheen.  If you wear mineral makeup, you could mix some in, but I use as a finishing powder after my foundation.  I use matte foundations because of my oily skin, it this just brightens up my face.

The container has two parts.  The bottom is the finishing powder and the top is a highlighter.  It a white crystal soft powder that blends into the skin.  It does not look like you have glitter sitting on your cheeks like a lot of highlighters.

Eye Color

 Left- Fixation   Right- Blend

Left - Blend  Right- Fixation
Their eye shadows are really pigmented, that is one swipe.  I have replaced my Mac Brule with Blend eye color.  I put blend all over the eye, and it just makes any eyeshadow bend out nicely.  They have so many color and finishes.  Take a look at the varieties and colors here.

 Sugar Lip Scrub
With all the weather changes, I have needed this scrub.  My lips have been peeling because I have been using a lot of matte lipsticks.  I just put a little on my lips at night and wipe it off.  It gets the dead skin off and makes my lips smooth.

Take a look at the Senna Cosmetics website.  See if there are some things you would like to try.  I want to get more of the lipsticks and lip lacquers.  They make my lips feel fuller and softer.  I also want to try some foundation because I love the Mineral Mix.

These poducts were provided to me.  I am not being paid.  These are my own opinions.

Have you tried anything from Senna?

MAYBELLINE DREAM MATTE POWDER- A SECOND CHANCE

In my drugstore haul, I had said that I was using the Dream Matte Mousse.  I wanted to try a new powder with it.  When I put up my review of the Maybelline Dream Matte Powder, which I said I didn't like, I got a lot of comments saying how much they loved the powder.  So, I went back and took it out.
I am so glad I did.  This time I took a powder puff or sponge and pressed it onto my T-zone.  It really made a difference.  When I used a powder brush, it just flew everywhere, but didn't really stay on my face.
If you have oily skin the Matte Mousse and powder are really good products together.  Thanks for all the positive comments on the powder, it made me try it again.

What is the product that you gave a second chance and loved?

COVERGIRL OUTLAST LIPSATIN/review

I have come to the conclusion that I am not a lip stain girl.  I was dying to try these because so many brands came out with them.  CVS had a BOGO and I tried to pick the 2 lightest shades, since they all looked pretty dark to me.

Top -  #420
Bottom - #415
They don't have the name just numbers on the bottom the bottom of the lip stains.

On my hand the colors look different, but on the lip, it looks pretty much the same.  I couldn't put it on evenly.  The stain came out liquidity and one part stained the lip darker than the other.
What I disliked the most, is the fact my lip look flat.  I looked like a little kid who just ate a popsicle.
I think I'm over have a perfect lip stained lip.

Have you tried a lip stain? What's a good way to put it on?

SENNA COSMETICS - REVIEW

At IMATS this year, seen here, I bought a beautiful palette from Senna Cosmetics.  I loved the feel, color, and pigmentation of it.  You have shadows, blush, highlight, bronzer, and powder in one.  I sent it to my sister-in-law because I knew she would love it.  More importantly, she's a  freelance MUA and works in the movie industry, and this has so many products in one case.  I was right because she uses all the time and loves it too.  So, when I was contacted by Senna Cosmetics to try some products, I was super excited.  I know how great the palette is, and was excited to try more products.
I was not at all disappointed.  These products are just as wonderful.

They carry a full line of cosmetics and brushes.  I found foundation, mineral makeup, shadows, brow kits, and palettes. I like the full range of colors in foundation and powder,  from light to dark skin tones. The prices range from $15-$95.  They also do not test on animals.

Look on Senna Cosmetics site for all their products and descriptions of their products.

MYTH e/s
That is one swipe.  My true test of color payoff.  It's long lasting, but there is some glitter fall out.  I want to try their matte shadows next.

TOP- ALABASTER Lip Lacquer
This is very sticky and thick, but does not move, even when you eat.
BOTTOM GLINT Lipstick
Says its a sheer tone, but I think it has a lot of color.  What I like about this is the SPF and i is moisturizing too. It sinks into the lips.

TOP - Glint topped with Alabaster
MIDDLE-Alabaster Lip Lacquer
BOTTOM- Glint(Tyra Banks named this a best pick on her show)

JOY Blush
This is my favorite product I tried.  It is like a blush and highlight in one.  For me, it is what Mac Stereo Rose would look like in a blush.

 Myth

TOP Mac Stereo Rose
BOTTOM- Senna Myth blush

Dual Ended Brush
Super soft, but this gives a sheer color wash.

I want to get a palette for myself so I'll have more products to try and it will be great for travel too.

Have you tried senna Cosmetics?  Which products would you like to try?

Disclaimer: These products were sent to me and it is my honest review.  I am not getting compensated for my review.

SKETCHERS SHAPE - UPS- review

I have worn these for a while now and I still don't know how good they work.

The first day I wore them, my calves felt tighter or achy in the morning.  The next couple of days I didn't feel tightness, but I started getting a pain in my lower back.  A few days later, the pain went into the back of my legs.  Now the pain I was feeling wasn't a work out stretch in the legs, but leg and lower back aches.  I decided to leave them alone for  a while.

I went back to them a couple of weeks later, and the same thing happened.  I haven't worn them since.  I think the heel is too hard.  I was at a store where they sold knock-offs and I asked what the feed back was on them.  The sales person said they reviews were 50/50.  Love em or hate em.

My conclusion is the same.  Some people swear by them, I don't.  My back and legs hurt and that out weighs how tone my legs would get.   I think walking around in comfortable wedge heals will give you better results.

Have you tried the Shape-Ups?  Do yo think they work or heard they do?

E.L.F. BEAUTY BOOK- BRIGHT EYES / DUPE UD ALICE OF WONDERLAND PALETTE

I Love these e.l.f. beauty books. All these beautiful colors and shadows for $5.   I bought one during Christmas at Target and I use it almost everyday.  That and my Mac palette are all the colors I need.  This is the Bright Eyes edition.  They have a smokey one also.  I picked this one.  Smokey eyes had a lot of the same colors as my first Encyclopedia Eyes Book, there is a review here if you want to see the colors.

These are limited edition, so if your interested, go and get one soon.  The shadows are pigmented and smooth.  They're glimmery, but not sparkly.  The palette itself is light weight and perfect for travel.

THE BEST PART

These colors are exact dupes for the Urban Decay Alice in Wonderland palette, that was sold out and limited edition also.  The e.l.f. eye shadows are more powdery, but still just as pigmented

Can you tell which are Urban Decay and which is the e.l.f.?

The top row is the e.l.f. and the bottom is the Urban Decay Alice in Wonderland palette.  Look how close they are in color.  Exciting!!

Now I'm in the search of the other palettes.

Have you tried the new palettes?  What is your favorite low end eye product?

Laura Mercier Minerl Foundation Powder - Rave Review

Laura Mercier Mineral Powder SPF 15 Classic Beige

This review comes with a story that may have to have a part 2.  When my mom was visiting she ran out of her powder and I ran out of my mascara, so we went to Sephora.  I told her she has to try this Laura Mercier Mineral Foundation
.  I have read so many excellent reviews on it, especially for women with mature skin.  We found the perfect shade and she was sold.
Now I am giving this mineral foundation RAVE reviews because since my mom has been wearing this, she has been complimented over and over on how young she's been looking, how beautiful her makeup is, and women asking her what she uses on her face.  She says it looks like she got a mini face lift when she puts it on.  Now a mini-face lift, that is a rave review from her.
My mom is in her 50's.  This foundation last all day for her, which is great because they are in the restaurant business,  long hours, stress, and heat and it looks perfect.  Her pores are minimized and it doesn't settle in any lines, it smooths them out.
So, this is why there has to be a part 2.  I have to try it out next to tell you what it looks like on someone in there 30's, maybe it will make me look younger too.
Have you tried this foundation?  What is your favorite mineral foundation?

TOP DRUGSTORE PRODUCTS under $10 - LIPS

These are my favorite drugstore products that are really great for under $10

LIPSTICK
Left - Right
Revlon Colorburst - I have 4 shades & I love them.  They don't have a smell and are really pigmented

Revlon Matte - Matte lipsticks are drying, but these look matte but feel moist on the lip.

Loreal Color Riche - very creamy, smooth, and pigmented. I feel they make my lips look plumper.

Avon - Very affordable and beautiful colors that have staying power.

NYX Round lipsticks - These don't have the best staying power, but they come in every color you can think of.

Wet n Wild - These are their new matte lipsticks.  They are really creamy and non-drying.

C.O. Bigelow - This is from Bath & Bodyworks ($7). I put this on before bed and my lips are soft and no dry skin.  It's great for chapped lips, very minty.

Revlon Super Lustrous lip Gloss - These have a huge range of colors and are super soft on the lips, not sticky, soft scent, and moisturizing.

LIP LINER

Prestige - They are my favorite.  They glide right on no tugging and great colors.

E.L.F - Natural is their only color, but it's really nice. I wish they had more colors.

Jordana - Very inexpensive, smooth, wide range of colors.

Wet n Wild - These are more dry, but these outlast your lipstick and good colors.

NYX - These are cheap, great colors, and pigmented.

The one thing I never buy high end is the lipliners.  There so many great cheap options out there.

What is your favorite under $10 lip product?

NEW FOUNDATION - COVERGIRL CLEAN OIL-CONTROL/review

I have been using this foundation for the last couple of months.  It's my second bottle of the 545 warm beige.  I just bought the 560 and add a drop/pump to the warm beige because i have been self tanning.  The colors darker than the 545 just look too pink or gray for my skin.  It really has a light to medium coverage, but it feels and looks like your own skin.

PROS
  • Price $4-6
  • Light satin finish
  • Controls the oils in the T-zone
  • Doesn't look like a mask or caked on
  • Good color range
  • Dries to a powdery feel

CONS
  • Lasts 4-5 hours
  • No SPF
  • Some colors are too pink, hold it up to your skin in the light
  • Hard to get the foundation out without a pump
The best way I found to put this on for the best coverage is with a Mac 190 or for a lighter air brushed a soft domed kabuki brush.  i usually do the T-Zone with the 190 and the rest with a kabuki.  I just stipple the kabuki and it looks amazing.

COVERGIRL CLEAN POWDER

This does nothing at all.  It doesn't cover or set your makeup.  Two thumbs down.  That's even if you can open the top.  Pass on this.  The color range is supposed to correspond with the foundation color, but it looks way too orange if you get the same color.

Have you tried this new line yet?  How about the acne control?
I'm thinking of trying the MUFE matte foundation come fall.  Is it good?

MY FAVORITE NEW SELF TANNER - SUN LAB(I bought this myself)

I ordered this myself after seeing so many reviews on it, and it Really is great!  I got it in Dark because I think the light & medium would need 2 applications to 1 of dark.  I don't know if its true, but it works for me.

You get a beautiful caramel shade, not yellow or orange.  I put it on in the morning and I was dark within hours.  We were in Las Vegas, & I was darker with this than people baking in the sun.  I am not a sun worshiper, the sweating and heat drive me nuts.  My legs looked nice and toned with with my summer dresses.

Pros
  • Gives you a great sun kissed color
  • It makes your skin so soft, baby soft, love
  • Doesn't stain your clothes
  • Smells like a cherry slushy, yummy
  • Product is dark so you know where your putting it
  • Not streaky
  • A little goes a long way
Cons
  • You have to wash your hands after applying on each part or your hands will look like mud
  • Takes a while to absorb & dry
I will repurchase.  Like I said in my drugstore self tanner post, It's so hard not looking like a streaky orange mess.  This for me just works, with no fuss.

I was at Ulta and I saw it there for $32, I wonder if the 20% coupon will work on it?  I'm itching to try the St. Tropez tanner.  How is that?

Do you think a high end tanner is better than a low end one?

NEW LIMITED EDITION N.Y.C. CREME BLUSH COLORS

Wild Berry

Pink Flash

I saw these from the register at CVS in one of those displays.  They came out with limited edition colors for summer.  I though both were just beautiful.  i first just got the Wild Berry because i don't think I have anything that bright.  It's really a bright orchid pink.  Then  for $3.49, how could I leave out the Pink Flash.  Sometimes I look at it and its peach and other times pink.

Here is my review of my first Creme Blush.  They are really great, and super for the hot summer days.  They also had other products, but this is all that was left.  They had to matching glosses.

Have you tried these yet?  What do you think?  What's your favorite cream blush?

EYELINER Low & High End for the Waterline-The Winner Is?

I needed a new black eyeliner for my waterline because my gel liner was beginning to bother me.  Also my eyes are watering like crazy.  I tried out 2 drugstore, Revlon Colorstay and Loreal Extra Intense($8-9), and 1 high end, MUFE Aqua Eyes($17).  One stood out...

THE WINNER

Loreal Extra Intense Eyeliner in Black
  • Super black
  • Glides on
  • Doesn't smudge
  • Doesn't move
The Colorstay was in close second, but it's a little dry, but had great lasting power too.
The biggest let down was the MUFE Aqua Eyes stay put liner.  Just putting it on was a chore.  I had to keep going over the waterline to get any color pay-off.  Then it just slid right down.  I don't get it, it says Stays put liner.

I have to say drugstore products have really improved, a lot!

What are you using on your water line or as an eyeliner?

MAC TO THE BEACH - MARINE LIFE

Store: Mac.com, Macy's, Nordstrom's
COST: $26.50
3/5 Stars

This is really one of Mac's beautiful creations. It's a great design.  However, for me it's a bit too glittery. What the MA said to me is it is a highlighter at first because the gold is an over spray and then you are left with a peach and pink blush.  She had the peach part as a blush and it really looked more like a matte blush.  I will have to let you know how true that is.

I was also eyeing the cream bronzer, but that was also too glittery.  I was tempted, but the $30 price tag made me think about it.  I have so many bronzers that i already never use.  Plus, my face has been so oily lately. I'm afraid it will slip right off.

Have you bought from this collection?  What do you think of the bronzer, are they worth the price?

REVLON LIMITED EDITION SUPER LUSTROUS LIP GLOSS/review

Lilac Petal      Peach Petal

STORE: Drugstores, Ulta
$7-8
3/5 Stars

I missed out on even swatching Lavender Whip lipstick, so when I saw Lilac Petal, I had to get it.  The Lilac Petal is actually wearable.  I think because it's really milky and shears the lilac out.  I like it in Peach Petal more.  I think it's a color you could wear on its own or mute out a dark crazy lip color.
It reminds me of Mac C-Thru.

I have had this Revlon gloss in other colors before, and like them, but don't love them.  I think the color wears out fast.  I do like the the smell, texture, and the how it moisturizes my lips, but I want the color too.  My lips feel soft, but the gloss doesn't last long.

I was looking for the Coral one, but can't find it.  I don't know if I'll search it out.

What are your favorite lip gloss?

LOREAL COLOUR RICHE LIPSTICK- FAIREST NUDE/ Bargain Alert

STORE: Drugstores, Ulta, Walmart
$7-9
Color ; Fairest Nude
4/5 Stars

Bargain Alert : This week at Walgreen's, all Loreal lips products are $3 off, Plus they have their own coupon book right when you walk in with another $2 off.  This past Sunday the paper had a $1 off coupon, so that's $6 off any Loreal product.

This is the first Loreal Lip product I bought in a long time, but they are really great.  Smooth, creamy, long lasting, and opaque.  Love it.  Also, they are set up in shade of nudes, pinks, reds, and berries from lightest to darkest.  It's easy to find the color you want.

I've seen a lot of tweets, blogs and YT Gurus talk about this one in Fairest Nude.  It's really a wearable nude.  It has a peachy/pink color, so it doesn't look washed out or like chalk on the lips.  The one downfall is the smell of these lipsticks.  I want to try others, but hate the smell.  I may have to try it a little longer to see if I could live with it.  I really want to try another one though.

Have you tried the Loreal Colour Rich lipsticks?  Does the smell bother you?  What's a great color to try?

MAC CORAL CREPE PAINTPOT - Pret a Papier Collection

STORE : Mac Cosmetics
$16.50
4/5 STARS

This is my only purchace from the lat 2 collections from Mac.  I saw Michele 1218 rave about tis product on YT, and she was right.  I love paintpots.  They are easy, a good base, come in tons of colors, long lasting, and you can use only a paintpot for a lid color.

This paintpot is from the Pret a Papier collection os Coral Crepe.  It is a coral wit a hint of gold shimmer.  It liiks great alone or paired up with browns or golds.  I think it's a good buy because I haven't really seen a coral as a base before.  I think it's LE, so if you're interested go take a look now.

What's your favorite e/s base to use?

WET N WILD HAUL/REVIEW

Wet n Wild Icon Eyeshadow Palettes
Store: Rite-Aid, Walgreens
Cost: $4.99

Why did I wait so long to get these?  They are the most pigmented, beautiful colors.  I took only these 3 with me on a trip, because you know I like the challenge, or game.  They were amazing, and I would like to add that there are so many Mac dupes here.  You really only need just 1 of these to take with you on a trip and get a lot of looks out of it.

L - R   Vanity, Greed, Lust

This is just 1 swipe
The only thing that could be a little better is the staying power on the lighter shades.  i just pack them on a little more.

Wet n Wild Matte Lipsticks
Cost: $3-4

These are great too.  They are thick, smooth, and very opaque.  They don't make your lips look cracked or dry, but may be a bit drying, like all matte lipsticks.  I just wish they had more of a color range.

L - R #902, #903 (sorry they have no name)

I love the 902, and use it almost every day.  It is a matte version of my Mac Blankety(love).  The 903 is a bright Baby Doll pink.

Overall the products are amazing for the price.  Wet n Wild has really upped their products and colors.

I'm going to try the singles, trios, and blush next.  What have you liked and tried from Wet n Wild?

TOKIDOKI-SHADOW/ review

$15 @Sephora

This is 1 of my Sephora buys with the 15% off they just had.  I kept passing this by in the store, I just thought the line would be too pastel, I don't know why I thought this.  HELLO, I was wrong.

Bulletto

Everything is so pretty  Beautiful!  The eye shadows come in matte and shimmer, singles or quads.  The colors are so pigmented and super creamy. Love, love it.  I was talking to the MUA at Sephora and her makeup looked so vibrant.  She said it was all tokidoki.  She thought it would be kiddish, but once she swatched it, she fell in love too.  She said all the products have major staying power.  Plus the packaging....very cute.

I got this in Bulletto and its this brown, grey, reddish, black, more enhanced version of Satin Taupe.  I really want to get more.

Have you tried tokidoki?  What are their best products?  What new product has surprised you?
