AUGUST FAVORITES

This month I focused less on the eyes & more on the lips. I mostly wore the bronzed or smokey eye with a winged liner.

Mac Lipstick Style Warriors collection in Sunsational. This color takes is a frosty lt. brown. It takes on the color of the lip liner. I used it with both brown & pink liner.

The 2 liners I always have are Honey dip(browns) by Jordana & Beige(really pink) by Nyx
Honey Nectar Mac luster glass. This is so beautiful, just worn on its own.
Creme D' Nude made its way back on the faves this month. I love the cremesheen, but they are so soft I kill them.
NYX jumbo Pencil in Dark brown for base & lid color. I just smooth it on.
I love this blush. Fad-Dabulous mineral blush. It has the hint of gold & just perks up the cheeks & face. It's great for the summer look.
That's it. I had no real major makeup hauls this month. These are things I have been digging out from the stash.

What are your faves? What is your latest product you dug out?

CLIPLESS CURLING IRON HAIR PHOTOS

HELLO EVERYONE & HAPPY WEEKEND TO YOU!

I have had time to spend with my clipless or conical or Enzo Milano dupe curling iron. The curls really do come out beautiful. It's easy & fast. I watched a bunch of YT demo's for different curling ideas. The 2 things you need to do are to use your heat protector glove & use a heat protector for your hair. The iron gets super hot.

I bought it from Amazon. They have different sizes & shapes.

This is my hair from the side. I have long layers in the back. I don't hold my end on the iron because I'm afraid it will give me split ends, & I have enough of those. I don't hold the iron at the root either. i section off my hair & start 1-2 inches from the root.
This is a closer look.
This is what the curl looks like on medium 1 length hair.
The curl lasts a long time. More than 24hrs. for me. I do love it. As of now the other curling irons are put away.

What are your experiences with the curling iron? What is a really good heat protector? I'm not loving the Chi.

BEST LIP TREATMENT FOR PEELING LIPS

COST: $7.50

STORE: Bath & Body Works

PROS:
Cooling Mint
Heals chapped & peeling lips
Vitamin & mineral infused
Shimmery

Cons:
Lip Balm is really soft so it goes fast

The C.O. Bigelow Lip Balm is the Only thing so far that has repaired my pealing lips. It's also great for chapped lips too. I noticed how dry my lips were when taking lip shots with my nude lippies for my blog. I tried brushing them, but it worked OK. I bought this a month ago, & have been using it every time I reach for a lippi from my purse.
I have the natural color with shimmer, but there are 2 others, dusty rose(made w/goji berry antioxidants) & a brown/nude color. The colors are very pigmented.
I use this alone or even on top of my lippies! I have tried it all, Blistex, Chapstick, Nivea, even the Dior lip Glow($28 later), but this has worked Great.
I have tried the other C.O. Bigelow lippies. They are cooling, but not moisturizing. This covers it all. Give a try.
They are having a promo buy 2 get 1 free now.
What other products are good at Bath & body? I saw a clay face wash, is that good? Any other great lip products to tr?

PRESSED MINERAL POWDER -FEMME COUTURE-POTW

Cost:$12.99 or BOGO

STORE: Sally's Beauty Supply

PROS:
Use as setting powder
Use as a foundation(perfect for summer)
Inexpensive
Comes in a pressed powder-not messy

CONS:
You have to swatch the colors are not true to the name
It's a soft powder & a little fragile

I love this mineral powder. I swatched it at Sally's & was in love with how smooth & soft it was. I have tried it as a setting powder with a fluffy brush & a foundation with a Kabuki brush, & both have lasting power . The powder doesn't oxidize. It leave a really pretty sheen, not glitter, on the face, like the Mac Natural Skinfinish does.

I haven't had any breakouts. The powder doesn't bother my eyes or have any smell to it. My face doesn't itch either. I know all are pretty common with mineral powder.
The smoothness of this powder reminds me of the Smashbox Halo. It doesn't have the hydrating power Smashbox does, but it leaves the skin just as flawless & smooth & doesn't settle in the lines.
I think it's a great product for a low price, & something to try out without spending a lot. Sally's always has a BOGO on this too.
Have you tried this or anything from this brand? What other products are great at Sally's?

MAKEUP WIPES CHEAP-HUGGIES PRODUCT/WEEK

COST:$2/40 OR $8/184
STORE: Anywhere baby products are sold

I thought of these wipes because it was the only thing that wouldn't irritate my daughters skin when she was little. I bought the small pack to try & now buy in bulk.

They have different formulations for skin types. I bought natural care, hypoallergenic. I need 1 wipe for my whole face. It's the cheapest makeup remover & doesn't break me out. I have oily skin & it gets the dirt off without leaving it greasy. It also removes waterproof makeup.
The only downfall is it will sting if you get it in your eyes, but I them closed anyways.

What's your favorite makeup remover? Your favorite cheap find?

AVEENO MOISTURIZING LOTION & SUNLESS TANNER- PRODUCT OF THE WEEK

COST:$10@drugstores,Walmart,Target
COLORS: Light/Medium/Dark skin tone

This is the best self tanner because it doubles as a 24 HR. moisturizer. This is really more of a moisturizer with a hint of self tanner. The best part is that the color it gives you is a brown tan, not an orange. My skin feels baby soft. I use it after I shower & I have healthy looking & feeling skin.
I love all the Aveeno products. All their products are dermatologist recommended. I haven't broken out, but I only use it on my face 2x's a week.
What I 'm really excited about trying is this moisturizer in the new customized dial color. You move the dial according to how dark you want to be.
Do you have a good self tanner to recommend?

PRODUCT OF THE MONTH- COASTAL SCENTS DELUXE BUFFER BRUSH

COST $8 @Coastal Scents

I have had this brush for a couple of years & used it for mineral makeup. I pulled it out & am now using it with my Colorstay Liquid Foundation, I am sooooo in love. My skin looks air brushed. It looks like I have no makeup on. It's perfect for summer. I also only need a small amount of product, & it's a super fast application. This is the short handle brush, the longer handle brush is too soft & the bristles don't cover good enough. The brush is still wet in this pic, but these brushes are great. After you wash them, they don't really shed & get softer.
I'm going to try the 109 dupe that I got from IMATS next. Give it a try & let me know what you think. Do you like this brush? What other face brushes do you recommend?

FABULINER/EYE LINER- PRODUCT OF THE WEEK

COST:$2@Walgreens

I have been using Revlon's Colorstay eyeliner FOREVER, until now.  I saw a bunch of YT's review this & it's great. It's cheap, great color payoff, & last a long time. The reviews say this is better than Mac's eyeliner pen that just came out.
Fabuliner(L) & Revlon (R) The wand is thicker & wider, but the end product is worth it. It does have a very pinted tip to get close to the eyelashes. It does take a little practice to get used to. Now I just slop it on with one hand.
Revlon(TOP) & Fabuliner(bottom) With Revlon you go over the lines to get the same color w/1 swipe of the Fabuliner. It's really great. If you're not a pro with liquid eyeliner, put a line down with a pencil first & go over it with the liquid!
I bought this in brown also & its really pretty. The color is dark enough to show up & looks brown.
Have you tried this? What's your favorite eyeliner?

E.L.F. BRUSHES-PRODUCT OF THE WEEK

COST:$1

eyeslipsface.com

These brushes from the regular line at E.L.F.  I like & use these the most.  The shadow brush & crease brush are the best. The crease brush is comparable to the Sonia Kashuk crease brush. The Mac 217 is a great brush, but so is this one.  The shadow brush packs on the color, & is very soft. The liner brush is a little long, but what I love is that the bristles are stiff, so you have a nice line.

I have washed them with baby shampoo & they don't shed or smell funny.  They look brand new & some are 2 years old.  The face brushes I don't recommend . They shed & lose they're shape. They're a mess.
I'm planning on getting the studio line brushes too. I heard the face brushes are great.

I heard E.L.F. is launching in the U.K. this month, so that's exciting. E.L.F.  I can't wait to hear the reviews.
In these times a $1 brush is a great thing!!

What do you think of E.L.F. ?

PRESTIGE BRONZER-PRODUCT OF THE WEEK

COLOR: ST. Tropez

COST:$9-11

I love this as a bronzer or just to add on top of a blush. It's got beautiful gold veins, but they're not  too glittery.

This is perfect for the summer to put all over or a blush.

What's you product of the week?
