IS IT JUST ME?

So yesterday I did a little shopping. It was a hot spring day in Cali, so we headed to Pasadena. I was trying to hunt down a MUA at Sephora & when I found one she never stopped walking to look at me, I had to follow her & talk.  At Macy's Estee Lauder counter, the MUA was sitting on a bench behind the counter talking to me.  At Mac, the MUA was swinging between 2 counters & asking people if they need help.  Finally at Chanel the MUA was doing someones makeup while talking about her co-workers.  What's going on with everyone.  You're selling products that cost $$$, but you don't want to help us out a little.

Is it just me who has noticed this happening?

I did notice this, actually in Canada its worse! There is a sense of entitlement and apathy at some of these beauty counters, they keep forgetting they are only one pay check away at being laid off if customers start getting pissed off. The level of work ethics form some employees is pitiful. I don't take it and ask them if there is someone 'willing' to assist me with a purchase. If they're too slow I tell them I don't want to spend my money there. I work on an aircraft and you need to boogie or passengers complain about a napkin that's why I don't get how others can get away with their behavior at work. Sorry for the rant.

I agree! I was at the MAC store one time and no one came to help me. I even asked this lady and she was like, I'm come help you later, I'm helping two customers. And she never came back. I also asked another MUA and she was like, I'm helping someone right now. Can you wait? Can you wait? (as if I didn't understand...) I finally asked one last lady and the item wasn't in stock...So much work for nothing. It just made me not want to get the blush and palette. D:<

Hmmm.. I never notice that.. :/ Especially I don't like MUAs helping me anyway, I do my own swatches then ask them afterwards to get it for me. They were kind enough to help me get what I want.

One thing I notice, if you go there with no make up, they tend to ignore you. :/ I go there with make up, they help me more. :/

It's happened to me, and when it does happen I usually leave and buy what I want online. Service is so important to me, especially if I'm going to spend top $$ on my make-up. However, I don't let the MAC mua do my make-up...they tend to overdo it, and then I can't walk around the mall cause I hate the way I look...LOL.

And I'm pregnant. Last time I got my e/s done with the MAC Too Dolly palette, and the mua smelt like cigarettes. And she did a horrible job!!! I had to remove the darn e/s and redo my e/s before I left!

seems like everyone is really feeling the economic crisis. they are laying off so many people in department stores, it's ridiculous! and sad, actually. but that sucks that you, a buying customer, did not get the attention you deserved!

I was at MAC a few days ago & there was one girl working who was gossiping on the phone. I pretty much heard the whole convo & her giggling, etc. But when I walked by in front of her, she made a really serious face & asked if I needed help & she'd be with me in a few minutes. Seriously, who's she trying to fool? I didn't even need any help, but at least don't pretend you're having a really serious phone convo.

I've had a lot of bad experiences with service. Yesterday, I went to the Bay to find my wedding lingerie. My sister and I tried on a bunch of things and she ended up picking two pieces. When we left, the lady cleaned up our room and at the front she started counting the hangers. Then she asked if we had stolen anything because she had so many hangers and not enough clothes. I was so insulted! Maybe I look like a teenager, but I'm well into adulthood and I have never stolen anything in my life! Anyway, we had to show the lady that we were buying exactly what she was missing in clothes. So ridiculous.
