MAC BRUSH- 181 SE

I got this se brush with a holiday collection this past Xmas.  This is what it looks like 3 months later! It's the buffer brush.  I have seen & read a lot of people talk about the quality of these brushes is not good, & it's true.  If you want the Mac brushes, it's better to wait & get the originals when you can.  I use the set I got for traveling now.
What is upsetting is that even though this is a special edition, it should't look like this.  It's real poor quality.
Look at my coastalscents brush, it's 2 yrs old.  It looks & feels great still.  Even though it's not a full size brush, Mac is still putting there name on it.  If you could get a soft brush for $6, why can't Mac do the same.  Just saying, its only my op

Yeah that looks really bad! I have the original one and it's a lot more dense and still holds its shape quite nicely. I don't get how coastal scents can make such a good brush for so cheap while MAC can't do the same for their cheaper brushes.

Your brush looks beat up!! I hate the holiday sets. They are harder to use, IMO, because the handle is plastic so they weigh less. Have you seen the Sigma brushes? Those look awesome, but since I have most of those in MAC brushes already...I'm skipping them.

Anyways I hope all is well with you. p/s the Sonia Kashuk sponge is super super super hard to wash. The beautyblender brush was 100x easier to wash, and I got it to it's original color. However, I still like the Sonia Kashuk sponge more....

blimey, my 181 is still in really good condition, I wash and condition it wkly and use a comb with the conditioner to comb out the as far in as I can to reshape it I wrap a dry face washcloth around it after I have washed it. I hear crown brushes are really good!

I've heard that the quality of Mac's travel size brushes and special edition brushes are inferior to the brushes in their permanent line.

However, is there a possibility that the brush got that way because you left it near a window where the sun could hit it?

If you leave brushes near the window, the sun could shine through the window and really damage the bristles.
