RANDOM

I'm really excited because my brother & his family are coming out this week. So if I'm not around so much, you'll know why. Look what I did today.  I stocked up, well maybe just for a couple days.  We all eat a lot, plus his kids are 3 &6 so they're snackers.
I'm planning on doing a BBQ on the day they come in, yummy. My brother, his wife, & I all cook. It will be nice for someone to cook for me. I'm usually always the cook!

Do you shop weekly, daily, monthly? Any good family style meals?

my mom does all the shopping at home right now. When i used to live alone in college i shopped like ummm every 2 weeks. I cooked all the freakin time. I also has friends come over for dinner or i always organized potlucks where i forced my friends to cook :)

Everyones fav that i used to make was bruschetta but instead of french bread, i used pan dulce. Like toast the bread first then place the toppings :)

GiGi...nice kitchen girly! I'd be cooking a lot more if I had a kitchen like that! That was nice of you to host the festivities for you and your family. I like to play hostess too, but hate the cleaning.

Thank goodness they cooked though! I love BBQ type foods, and I just love foods that you can share and enjoy with other people's company. BBQ cocktail wieners = YUM! Lol...

My family is very diverse. My sister is married to a creole guy, so they make a lot of southern style cooking. My other sister is married to a Hungarian guy, and he makes really good Hungarian dishes. I love how food just brings people close.

since you're doing a bbq, why don't you marinate beef/chicken/turkey/pork meat overnight, put them on skewers with bell peppers, onions and tomatoes? everyone loves anything on a skewers! buy mango chutney, some pickled chilis/onions and plain yoghurt to dip!!

then, cook some cuscus to go along anything grilled! it compliments each other really well! then, make a big bowl of colorful ceaser salad with croutons! YUMS!!!!

and clean the palette, with chocolate souffle with vanilla ice cream!

i'm gonna tell you that your family will enjoy this!!!
